About the course

This course is for certified and working healthcare interpreters who already interpret consecutively and want a structured approach to simultaneous and whispered interpreting. It is beyond beginner level. You will learn when simultaneous is the right mode, how Gile's Effort Model explains overload, how to build controlled lag through shadowing, how to segment meaning under speed, and how to protect anchor items such as numbers, medication names, and negations. You will also cover whispered delivery and room logistics. Each skills module includes recorded practice. The source audio is in English and you interpret into your other working language, so the course works for any language pair. You record on your own device and score yourself with scorecards, then answer scored quiz questions. The course ends with a 10 question final assessment, and you earn a certificate of completion when you pass.
