About the course

Foundations of Legal Interpreting is built for one specific moment: the point where you are seriously considering legal interpreting as a career, not just curious about it. Maybe you are bilingual and have never interpreted professionally. Maybe you already interpret in medical or community settings and are thinking about making the move into legal work. Maybe you just finished an interpreter training program and need your first real exposure to legal specific skills. This course meets you exactly there. You will practice all three modes of legal interpreting, consecutive, simultaneous, and sight translation, using realistic passages built specifically for this course.
